Publishing administration is the service that registers your compositions worldwide and collects their publishing royalties for you, without taking ownership of your songs. It's the composition-side equivalent of what distribution does for recordings.

Good to know

Publishing Administration: common questions

Does a publishing administrator own my songs?
No. Administration registers and collects on your behalf without acquiring copyright; you keep your songs.
Do I still need a distributor?
Usually yes. Administration covers the composition (publishing) side; a distributor covers the recording (master) side. Notes does both.
Can a publisher use Notes to collect the publisher's share?
Yes. A publisher can run global administration through Notes at catalog scale, registering compositions and collecting the publisher's share of performance and mechanical royalties worldwide, with per-writer reporting and no copyright or percentage taken.
