New York, NY — Sept 10, 2026 — Notes.fm (Notes), the music royalty collection platform built to help musicians identify, fix and collect all of their royalties in one place, today announced the launch of Notes Financial Accounts powered by Stripe, the programmable financial services company. Notes Financial Accounts are built using Stripe Connect and Stripe Treasury for Platforms.

This marks the next step in Notes’ evolution from helping artists identify missing royalties to becoming a singular connected home for their music, rights and finances. Notes now unifies catalogs, credits, distribution, royalty recovery, and financial tools together in one platform, giving musicians greater visibility into where their money is, what they’re owed and what they’ve collected, with a clearer path from releasing music to getting their deserved income.

For independent musicians, making music is only one part of building a career. Releasing it, registering it, keeping credits accurate, tracking down royalties and managing the money that comes back means navigating a patchwork of platforms, accounts and organizations. For many artists, that means royalties they’ve earned exist somewhere, but where and how to attain them is often unclear. Notes brings all of those pieces together into one ecosystem, so that musicians have a more efficient solution to simplify the business behind their music while ensuring they're collecting all of the royalties they've earned. This way, musicians can spend less time worrying about where their money is,  and more time to focus on the music.

How Financial Accounts Work:

  • Notes acts as a distribution service, collecting royalties directly from streaming platforms like Spotify. Notes uses Stripe Connect to then facilitate payouts directly to the artists’ accounts.
  • Stripe Treasury for Platforms connects Notes to the financial accounts where earnings are held, so Notes can then split a band's earnings among members, or a musician can withdraw funds to an external bank account.

Alongside the launch of Financial Accounts built on Stripe, Notes officially debuts Releases, a product built to streamline distribution and publishing admin into one simplified delivery, allowing artists to distribute music to Spotify and more than 50 platforms. The launch builds on Notes’ guiding principle: Release Once, Collect Everywhere.

“Artists should be able to release music, know it is credited correctly and collect every dollar their music earns without navigating a different system for every step,” said Tim Luckow, CEO and co-founder of Notes.fm. “Notes started by helping musicians find unclaimed royalties that were already theirs. With Releases and now our work with Stripe, we are building the full path forward for musicians to release once, collect everywhere. Simply one place to manage your music, royalties and finances.”

Releases follows the recent debut of Credits.fm, a free and open music credits database, with coverage of more than 53 million recordings and 125 million works, designed to help the music industry organize, verify, and connect the data powering royalties and artist compensation in the age of AI. Notes Financial Accounts now connect the money to that same experience, so royalties from music released through Notes can flow directly into an artist’s account automatically each month.

Royalty recovery remains a foundational part of the Notes platform. Notes helps artists identify earnings that may be unmatched or unpaid; resolve the credits, ownership data and registration issues behind them; and collect the money connected to those corrections. By offering its own distribution, Notes can also help prevent those issues from happening out the gate.

Since its public launch in October 2025, Notes has already identified more than $10 million in previously unclaimed royalties across artists and catalogs including James Blake, Mt. Joy and Girl In Red.

Notes.fm will continue expanding its platform in the months ahead with additional products and partnerships designed to help artists and music companies more seamlessly collect, manage, and grow the income generated by their music.
