NEW YORK, NY — June 30, 2026 — Notes.fm, the music rights infrastructure company helping musicians and music companies identify and collect 100% of their royalties, today announced the launch of Credits.fm, a free and open music credits database designed to help the music industry organize, verify, and connect the data powering royalties and artist compensation in the age of AI.
Credits.fm indexes more than 150 million song codes and credits across a growing network of music rights databases, collection societies, and registries. The platform is freely searchable across multiple domains including ISRC.fm, ISWC.fm, and IPI.fm and introduces open API and MCP functionality that allows developers and companies using AI tools including Claude, Cursor, and ChatGPT to integrate verified music credits directly into their workflows.
The launch comes as the music business faces growing pressure to modernize the fragmented systems behind publishing, metadata, and royalty collection, with more than $1 billion in music royalties already going unclaimed annually. As AI platforms and generative music tools become more prevalent across the industry, the risk of an even larger royalty black box grows.
