This Music Platform Is Helping Artists Find Unclaimed Money

By Matthew Leimkuehler

Notes.fm, launched in 2025, helps artists reclaim unclaimed royalties by scanning and correcting music metadata across rights databases, already identifying over $10 million in missed payments. It detects various metadata issues, creates issue lists for artists, and can directly fix problems to recover funds. The platform also offers Credits.fm, a free searchable database of song credits and codes, aiming to map music ownership more accurately and ensure proper royalty distribution.
